La Piscine, the Art Deco jewel
Roubaix’s former municipal swimming pool is now the museum of art and industry, known as La Piscine. Sculptures still line the central basin, the old changing cabins have become display cases and sunrise-coloured stained glass filters the light. A first date in this setting leaves a lasting mark: you whisper, you laugh and you already picture what comes next.
Grand-Place and town hall
The Grand-Place, overlooked by the neo-Flemish town hall and Saint-Martin Church, is Roubaix’s true gathering point. Terraces welcome early evenings, weekend markets bring life to the square and Rue du Grand Chemin slopes gently towards the shopping streets. Meeting here means choosing a simple, visible and warm address, perfect for a first coffee.
Barbieux Park and strolls
Away from the centre, Barbieux Park unfolds lawns, ponds and avenues of century-old trees over nearly a kilometre: a true green lung for a walk for two. On Lyad, Roubaix members share their favourite corners, from La Piscine to the canal banks; it is up to you to find someone to take the first step with.
